This is Jameela Jamil, an actress from “The Good Place” and a body positivity advocate. In the past, she has openly discussed her own struggles with anorexia and body dysmorphia to open up a more public conversation about eating disorders. Jamil started her own website called “I Weigh” where people can voice their two cents and keep up with social issues all in one spot. They advocate against “cancel culture” and have the motto of “Progress Over Perfection.”
I am a media studies major with a minor in journalism and, for my social media management work with USF’s Global Womens’ Rights Forum this spring, and to celebrate Women’s History Month, I have been using digital art to showcase different women who use their voices for social justice and empowerment.
