Thank you so much for everything you do to keep the legacy of our grandfathers alive. I am hoping that you can send some information where I might be able to learn more about the 57th Infantry PS. My grandfather survived the march and as I read your article reminded me of how he was one of few as well who was thrown in a pile of bodies and assumed for dead. Finding himself in the pile fueled his escape. My grandfather passed almost 8 years now and his stories are still of vivid imaginings; he was a member of the 57th Infantry PS. I will be speaking about the Death March in the next coming month and I would like to highlight the heroism of our Filipinos and specifically of the 57th Infantry. Any information would be helpful. thank you!
Thank you so much for these veterans sharing their experience from the Bataan Death march. I have an Uncle (Sgt. Benjamin B. Malit) from Lubao Pampanga who died in this march. He was enlisted as Army of United States. I have his plaque made of glass with a date of July 17th 1942. Can someone share some information how they were drafted as AUS and also is there any archive exist to search his date of birth… I’m just pushing my luck for the sake of my kids here in America. As part of President Obama’s stimulus package, the Filipino veterans fo WWII are getting a one-time payment for pensions they were promised but the US for never paid them.
