Weekly SLE Newsletter Approved
For administrative reasons, the university has discontinued sending emailed announcements labeled “USFconnect message” on upcoming student events on campus. Therefore, ASUSF senate has created an SLE Newsletter to be sent out weekly to the entire community, highlighting all upcoming events on campus. To have events included in the newsletter, all clubs and other university programs can send event postings and information to SLE. Students also have the option to unsubscribe from the newsletter, if they do not want weekly emails from SLE. Greg Wolcott, director of student leadership & engagement, said, “We want to also change the name of the newsletter, any and all ideas are welcome.”

Senate has put a $1,300 initiative fund for senators to use for future events, advertising, promotions and so on. Executive Board members are urged to use the extra funding wisely for outreach to constituencies, such as the college of arts and sciences. President Halimah Naijeb-Locke said, “Senate is not an event throwing body.”
