Sian Oberman is a senior media studies major who has some artistic words of wisdom for fellow students as the year comes to a close.
“My pieces are where 2 a.m. meets my notes app. I’m pretty new to making art. I started creating the backgrounds in my notes app and on ProCreate while unable to sleep one night in February. I typically add parts of my journal entries that are circling in my head at the time on top of the art,” she said.
“I’m a bit of a perfectionist in most areas of my life so I allow these pieces to be the place I can create without any expectation or pressure. The style of my art aligns with the spontaneity a small child would follow when painting or drawing, this is why I don’t erase anything and keep the scribbles.”
