Dons dish on what albums they’re loving as another fall semester begins. Ranging from new releases to classics, USF students show off their diverse music taste.

“I love this artist, she’s iconic and she’s a fellow countrywoman so… need I say more? Also, listening to Brazilian music in general gives me a really good nostalgic feeling that helps me miss home a little less.”

“The laid back instrumentals, introspective lyricism and identity that MAVI imbues each song with make for a deeply personal and unique album. It dives deep into one’s mental state and how they deal with personal struggle. The production is beautiful, with layered melodies playing off of simple drum loops. Amazing album.”

“As of late I’ve been obsessed with Cibo Matto and other Japanese alt rock/lounge music artists prominent in the Shibuya-Kei or ‘Shibuya style’ subgenre/scene during the late ‘90s. I personally love the use of horns, and various style influences/takes throughout the albums. My favorite song always changes because I love this album so much but right now it’s ‘Stone.’”
